Exercise: "Toe Touches (abs)" by Sruthan Wants Abs


More info / tips / proper technique:

Lie on your back with your shoulder lifted up off the ground. Your legs should be pointed straight up with soles toward the sky. Raise your arms up toward your toes. Now you will use your upper abs to perform a crunch-like motion to lift your shoulders and torso up and touch your toes with your finger tips. You may find it difficult at first to reach all the way up to your toes, but get as close as you can, and you will be able to reach your toes after just a little practice.

Hold an upper ab muscle contraction at the top of the motion for a count of two, then lower down towards starting position. Do not rest your weight on the floor at the bottom -- remember, your want to keep a constant tension on the abs throughout all reps.

Toe Touches, also known as Toe Touchers, are a very effective upper ab exercise because the biomechanic leverage creates resistance, which will stimulate larger muscle growth. It is also very good to do toe touches prior to crunches. The extra resistance of toe touches will tire your abs so that the crunches will have even more effect.
